What Does The Bible Say?

There Is A Problem

Our sin is a problem and keeps us from relating to God. The word 'sin' simply means mistakes that separate us from God. Romans 3:23 and 6:23 explain to us that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" and "the wages [payment] of sin is death."

God's Love And Free Gift

Romans 6:23 continues in saying, "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Although we deserve death, God gave us the gift of Jesus so we could have eternal life. The phrase 'eternal life' means living forever with God in Heaven. According to Romans 5:8, God did not wait until we were perfect to send Jesus for us. God sent Jesus while we were still sinners. "But God shows His own love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us."

How Does Jesus Take Away Our Sin?

1 Peter 2:24 says, "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed." The tree, or the cross, is where He died as a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross so that we may be free from our sin.

How Can You Respond?

Have you accepted Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior?

Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." If you are not sure, you can do it by praying this with all your heart, "Jesus, come into my life and forgive me my sins. I choose to make you my Lord!" Today you received Jesus in you heart to be your Savior! He forgave your sin, became you Lord, and took control of your life! You have become a child of God and God lives inside you!

Once You Are Saved Nothing Can Separate You From God

Romans 8:38-39 says, "Now, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God's Promise For You – The Gift Of The Holy Spirit

When you accept Christ's forgiveness, the Holy Spirit comes and lives in you. Ephesians 1:13-14 says, "In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory."

Telling Others About God's Love

The first thing that you should do is to share this good news with those around you. What you know is great news! Tell three people you know about God's love and His free gift that you received today! Who will you tell? When will you tell them? God wants everyone to know about His salvation. (1 Timothy 2:4)
